Placing items on reserve

Reserve Requests:

Reserve collections are located at Scott, Business, Frost, Law, Map, Sound and Moving Image and Steacie Libraries. To place a title on reserve, you need to complete a Reserve Request card or complete an online form. Cards are available at circulation service desks. Periodicals are not placed on reserve, but the library may process specific articles for reserve. When the library does not have the required material, an instructor may place their personal copies on reserve. Instructors must notify the libraries of reserve requirements well in advance of the beginning of term. Procedures may vary at the branches.

Photocopies of articles and chapters of books, and personal copies of books and other materials must be submitted along with completed reserve request cards directly to the appropriate reserve location.

Course kits (course packs) produced for York University courses may be placed on reserve under the following conditions:

It is the responsibility of the instructor to monitor reserves and to contact the appropriate library regarding the status of individual reserve requests.

Please indicate those titles that may be removed from reserve.Personal copies and photocopies of articles will be made available for pick-up if requested.Otherwise, materials not owned by the Libraries will be discarded.
